BruinHope
Meet The Directors

Co-Executive
Samantha Hurtado Beltran
Hello everyone, I am a fourth-year majoring in Biology and minoring in Education Studies. I am from Moreno Valley, CA, and I am one of the Co-Executives for this academic year. My favorite part of BruinHope is being able to continue serving my communities, especially children. I enjoy working with children and aspire to become a Pediatrician, thus, this organization has given me the best experiences where I can express my passions and be able to support the children academically and personally. I enjoy making a difference in underserved communities, and seeing all the children with happy smiles when we visit is heartwarming.

Co-Executive
Jenny Renteria
Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer Renteria, and I am a fourth-year student majoring in Physiological Sciences with a minor in History. I’m originally from Santa Ana, California, in Orange County, and I currently serve as one of the Executive Directors for BruinHope.
In this role, I oversee our Graphics, Fundraising, and Social positions, while also maintaining communication with partner organizations and the orphanages we support. What I value most about BruinHope is the opportunity to engage with new members and witness the meaningful connections they build with the children at Siempre Para los Niños and Niños con Fe.
Having been a part of this organization for the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of watching it grow and evolve into the impactful community it is today. BruinHope holds a very special place in my heart, and my hope is that its presence continues to grow at UCLA so we can support these orphanages for many years to come.

Co-Executive
Jocelynn Franco
Hi, I'm Jocelynn, I'm currently a 4th year Physiological Sciences Major, Chicana/o Studies Double Major and I am this year's Co-Executive Director for BruinHope 24-25! I'm from the Bay Area but my family is originally from Cuquio, Jalisco. My favorite part of BruinHope is getting to know and bond with our children at the orphanage sites during our visits and creating new friendships with our members :)

Finance Director
Ashley Nicole Pacheco
Hi everyone. My name is Ashley Nicole and I am a Sociology major at ucla. I am this year’s Finance Director for BruinHope. During my time here not only have I built meaningful connections but I have learned the true meaning of compassion. Going to Mexico and spending time with the kids has really opened my eyes and taught me what kindness is all about. Helping out however I could made me realize how much we all have to give, even in small ways. It definitely made me a more grateful and caring person.

Graphics Director
Pamela Davalos Andrade
Hi everyone! My name is Pamela! I am a third-year International Development Studies major here at UCLA from the Bay Area.

As the graphics director, I create content for our social media that showcases the amazing kids and members for all of you to see. My favorite part of BruinHope is that it has become my home away from home. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people while also serving kids in Mexico. I absolutely love going on our trips and spending time with the kids and sharing my cameras with them as it peaks their curiosity.

Social Director
Arely Teran
I am the Social Director for BruinHope and a fourth-year Biology Major. I love to try new coffee places and spend time with friends! After graduation, I hope to attend nursing school!

Education Director
Alondra Cortes
Hi everyone! I am Alondra Cortes and I am the Educational Director for BruinHope. I am a fourth-year Psychology major and Spanish minor from South Central LA.
My favorite part about BruinHope is getting to create and lead educational activities that not only help the kids learn but also open up opportunities to build real, meaningful connections with them. Whether it's through an art project or a fun hands-on STEM challenge—it’s during these shared moments when we’re coloring or building something together — that the kids open up about their lives, their dreams, and their struggles. Being able to see the kids bond with the volunteers have always been the most meaningful moments for her. It's the simple act of being there that makes all the difference and it is really heartwarming for her to see the kids light up when they feel heard and supported.

Yahir Torres
Hey everyone! My name is Yahir Torres and I am a 4th year here at UCLA, but I am originally from San Bruno which is in the Bay Area. I am this years Transportation and Safety Director for Bruin Hope, and this includes handling any transportation for the club as well as other things. My favorite part of Bruin Hope is getting to interact with the kids from the orphanage and in a ways distract them for a little bit from the realities of the world. I am definitely going to miss all the kids that I have built a special bond with over the 2 years I have been part of this organization, but I look forward to possibly volunteering even when I graduate!
